So perhaps you want us to play for you, what do you need to know?

Well, we usually play as a five piece band with 2 fiddles, guitar, piano and drums. We have the all important caller to talk "non-reelers" through the dances, and play up-tempo, funky ceilidh music for all kinds of events.
So what else do you need to know.......the cost maybe.  Well, our costs start from £590 a night which gives you about 3 & 1/2 hours entertainment and includes a caller as well as the PA (the thing that makes us loud enough to dance to).

If your event is less than 50 miles from Aberdeen, then there is no additional cost. If it is over 50 miles then we do recover minimal expenses for travel (and accommodation if further a field). We do really enjoy playing abroad, so if your event is outside Scotland, just let us know.... especially if it is somewhere hot!!

If you want some more information or to confirm availability, just give Senga a bell on +44 (0)7740 399757 or email us at the above email address. `

You'll probably be glad to hear that we do not ask for a deposit (everyone we have played for so far have been very honest), however, we do ask you to sign and return a booking form so we all know what is needed on the night...........here is an example of one.

If you are organising a ceilidh and need some pictures for posters or flyers, here are one or two.

Just something to note - being a five piece band with piano and drums we do take up quite a bit of space (about 10 sq metres) so please bear this in mind if your venue is quite small. Here is a stage plan if you a providing the sound equipment for us.

To give you an idea of what the dancers think, here are some quotes from past events..........
"Just a quick word to say ‘Thank You!’ to you and your bandmates for a superb set at our wedding. Emma & I both had a great day, and the ceilidh contributed largely to that. We hope you guys enjoyed yourselves too." Cool wedding at a farm near Huntly

"HOGTIE - Just a letter to SHOUT a mega huge thank you for your mind blowingly groovy performance at my unforgettable eighteenth ceilidh at Crathes. Your enthusiasm and magical playing made my night and I am continually receiving complements as to your performance. My granddad highly approved of your high standards, and my mates thoroughly relished every moment (as I did). The dances were super fun and I really cannot thank you guys enough. Thank you and I’ll see you at the ceilidh tent at T in the Park 06 Cheers!" Birthday Party at Crathes Hall

"Just a note to say thank you for a great evening. We raised over £300 for the hall roof so, all in all it was a great success. If you ever need a reference we would be happy to provide one, and hopefully, when we organise the next ceilidh, we'll get you back." Glen Tanar Recreation Club

"Just a note to say thanks very much to yourself and the band for making our wedding evening so good! Everyone commented on how good the ceilidh was and on how much they enjoyed the dancing. We're both very grateful to Hogtie for helping to make the evening such a success. If I know of anyone else looking for a ceilidh band, I'll certainly mention Hogtie to them." Wedding at Elphinston Hall, Aberdeen

"Dear All, Thank you so much for making my birthday such a memorable one. It was a fantastic evening. Everybody had a fantastic time and we all enjoyed learning some new dances together. As the evening went on the dancing became wilder and wilder, mainly due to the Dutch contingent gaining more and more confidence - my arms are now various shades of blue! Thank you again, and if anyone I know asks for a great ceilidh band, I'll recommend Hogtie. Best wishes." Birthday party at Peterculter, Aberdeen

"Dear Hogtie, Thank you for an excellent evening of music and dance at our daughters 18th. Everyone had a wonderful time and we all enjoyed the mix of traditional and new. It was great to see all Hannah’s friends up on the floor for every dance!! It was a really fun night, many thanks from Anne and David"  Ceilidh at Crathes Hall
"Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful ceilidh music you played at my sisters wedding on 4th September at Innes House. Everyone was up on the dance floor, and many have commented afterwards on what a special day it was, with a great celebratory atmosphere."  Wedding at Innes House, Elgin

"Thank you so much for a fantastic Burns' Night of dancing interspersed with some excellent singing, the variety of new dances kept everybody on their toes! We will definitely be booking you again and will happily recommend you to anybody looking for a friendly, flexible ceilidh band!"  University of Aberdeen BMM Society

"Dear Hogtie, Thank you for your splendid performance at our recent ceilidh. Talking to people afterwards, it was obvious that you appealed just as much to the older and younger people there; it was just the right mix of a traditional and ‘upbeat’ style. We thought the quality of playing and calling was great, from the first note right through to the very last chord. Again, many thanks, David Jones." Birthday party at Balloch, Loch Lomond

"Another great evening's entertainment from ‘Hogtie’ at the Shell Expro IS Burn's Supper....... a good choice of music, ........ performances, individually, and as a group, were great and they worked hard to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves." Shell Exploration And Production

"Just want to thank the band for a great evening, everyone who was there had a fantastic time. The only problem was it wasn't long enough. We will look forward to booking you again in 2005. Thanks again." Christmas Party for TRACS International at the Lairhillock.

"Hogtie, We just wanted to thank you so much for playing at our wedding. We thought you were great and we were very pleased with your renditon of 'Local Hero'. It was a very special night and the music you supplied captured the essence of a true scottish wedding. Best wishes...." Wedding at Glen Tanar Ballroom, Aboyne

"Hogtie, Thanks so much. Everyone thought Hogtie were fantastic and I doubt anyone could have done a better job last night. You were great to work with and I would recommend Hogtie to anyone looking for a first rate ceilidh band....." 40th Party at the New Inn, Ellon
